Another popular jungle trail in Penang is a trail going up the Penang Hill. This trail begins at the Moongate near the entrance of the Botanical Garden all the way up to a rest area for hikers called 84 (picture below). From there, you will need to use the tar road if you want to continue hiking up to the top of the hill. The jungle trail passes through several fruit and vegetable farms. The starting point of the trail, called Moongate, is very well-known as it has exist for more than 40 years. It gets its name from the round-shaped brick foundation built as the entrance to the jungle trail (picture above).
